PAID SOCIAL · THE YELL SOCIAL GLOSSARY

Frequency.

How often, on average, each reached person or account is shown an ad within a reporting period. A common calculation is impressions divided by reach.

IN THE REAL WORLD

A simple example

An ad records 6,000 impressions across an estimated 2,000 reached accounts, for an average frequency of three.

Put it into practice

Watch frequency together with results and feedback. An average can hide people who see the ad much more often.
